CAD Technician

About the job:

The CAD Technician will work with a team of experienced Design Engineers and production team dedicated to the delivery of innovative and effective equipment and systems.

Your Job Purpose

You will assist the Mechanical Design Engineers with the updating of existing design drawings and associated production and quality documents.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Generation of detailed drawings to the companies engineering specifications.

  • Creation of detailed design documentation

  • Ensure drawings and information is delivered within planned schedules.

  • Ensure documentation/drawing standards meet the company’s requirements.

  • Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements

  • Participates in the use of lean and Continuous Improvement tools in equipment designs and engineering systems.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have relevant qualification.

  • Design software experience.

  • Must be competent in use of SolidEdge or other 3D design package.

  • Literacy in computer operating systems and applications such as MS Office Suite Products (e.g. Windows, Word, Excel).

  • Experience with Pneumatics, Workshop Equipment and Machine Building desired

  • An ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • This is a majority desk-based role.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems and co-ordination issues

  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently and work without the need for excessive supervision.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Immediate start, commencement salary €30,000

Production Engineer

The Production Engineer will work with a team of experienced Design Engineers and production team dedicated to the delivery of innovative and effective equipment and systems.

Your Job Purpose

Working for the Romaquip team as a production engineer you will be involved in process improvement and cost reductions projects through productivity improvement and machine time reductions.

 Your Responsibilities:

  • Collection and analysis of data to improve efficiency

  • Creation of efficient work flow plan

  • Ensure information is delivered within planned schedules.

  • Ensure documentation standards meet the company’s requirements.

  • Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements

  • Participates in the use of lean and Continuous Improvement tools in equipment designs and engineering systems.

Responsibilities

·         Responsible for providing manufacturing engineering services to support process improvement projects and new product introductions. 

·         Engineering services include process development, new product introductions and cost reduction

·         Sorting through options and choosing the most appropriate processes and work flow methods.

·         Testing and proving out production methods which meet performance and quality requirements.

·         Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements affecting the make versus buy decision.

·         Writes instruction sheets for machine operators, Also assist in the training of production operators on the use of equipment.

·         Negotiating target completion dates with appropriate personnel from other departments.

·         Developing project plans and schedules for work activities.

Requirements

·         B.Sc. in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or other Engineering Science

·         Skilled and knowledgeable in manufacturing and new product processing.

·         Statistical Process Control skills; Demonstrates good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools.

·         Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.

·         Microsoft Office Suite and Project;

Desirable:

·         Experience working in engineering / production environment

·         Ability to handle project assignments of large scope and complexity and able to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner.

·         Knowledge of CNC milling programming and process development, Computer Aided Design Systems, work systems, scheduling of work and MRP/ERP systems

·         Ability to balance manufacturing, and design requirements to meet customer requirements

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to continued expansion, Romaquip have the following opportunity to become part of their engineering team, a role which will offer a challenging but rewarding career in the design and manufacture of innovative and bespoke equipment in waste recycling and winter maintenance.

 Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role involves researching and developing designs from concepts through to manufacturing and implementation, and working with a Quality Management System on new and existing projects.

 The successful candidate will form part of the engineering team, working on new designs, and continuous improvements, producing and maintaining 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation; including BOMs, Assembly drawings, Revision documents, Technical manuals, and necessary Quality documents.

 The minimum required qualifications are:

·         Degree in Engineering (preferable Mechanical)

·         3D CAD experience (SolidEdge, SolidWorks)

·         Experience working with a Quality Management System e.g. ISO 9001

Other desirable skills/experience:

·         Proficient in Excel, and Office programs, and capable of producing technical documents quickly

·         Experience in manufacturing environment, and Quality Management

·         Experience with CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)

·         Understanding of hydraulic systems, and experience in hydraulic design

·         Experience with electronic control systems (particularly CAN systems)

The ideal candidate will also:

·         Be a good communicator, and be capable of managing projects

·         Be capable of working within tight deadlines, and delivering results

·         Perform well as part of a team
