Why Choose Kerb-Sort?

As the number one choice for some of the UK’s leading councils and recycling contractors, when you invest in a Kerb-Sort vehicle you are investing in unrivalled productivity, efficiency and reliability

Productivity, Sorted.

Maximise the range and volume of materials during collection. The durable and fuel efficient kerb-sort vehicle is designed to maximise the range and volume of materials collected. Constructed from the highest quality components, the vehicle is designed into seven fully enclosed compartments, eliminating the risk of litter and allowing each category of material to be stored separately. Every inch of the vehicle is designed with collection space in mind, making optimum use of the space available.

Compartments can be assigned to different materials depending on your recycling priorities. The range of materials that can be collected and sorted includes paper, cardboard, mixed plastics, glass, cartons, textiles, food, batteries and small WEEE.

For maximum safety the vehicle is designed to be fully loaded from the safety of the kerbside (with the exception of food). When safe to do so, loading is possible from both sides of the vehicle simultaneously, significantly improving the potential speed and efficiency of your collections.

To optimise load space, plastics and cans are moved to the upper deck via a vertical loader where they are hydraulically compacted and stored, giving a maximum capacity of up to 850kg. Compaction is automatically controlled from the nearside of the vehicle.

The new heavy duty cardboard compaction system can compact up to 1 tonne of cardboard and is automatically controlled from the nearside of the vehicle.

Efficiency, Sorted.

Pre-sorted material, off loaded in minutes. The ergonomically designed, user friendly and efficient Kerb-sort is designed to deliver end-to-end improvements during both collection and offloading. At the depot the vehicle offers the fastest automatic unload times in the industry, with automated offloading controlled from the safety of the cab for fast, easy and safe deposit of materials without further sorting required.

During offloading the upper deck compaction ram acts as an ejector and materials are still loose when unloaded to allow further separation. The heavy duty anti-debris system ensures an accurate unload and prevents material spillage.

The intelligent hydraulic chutes provide automatic side ejection for glass – occurring from both sides of the vehicle simultaneously.

Special sealed stillages are used for food waste. These are loaded and unloaded, locked and unlocked hydraulically, removing any need for a forklift to come in direct contact with the vehicle.

The Magic Floor provides automatic side ejection for paper from both sides of the vehicle simultaneously.

The right vehicle for the job, Sorted.

With impeccable green credentials, fuel efficiency and reliability you can count on, the user-friendly design and operation makes the vehicle the first choice for operators. Kerb-sort is the most economical vehicle to purchase, run and maintain – dramatically boosting the efficiency and productivity of your recycling collection.

New Cardboard Compactor

The cardboard compartment has a heavy duty compactor and a fully automatic rear ejection process. The rear door opens up and the bottom door is lowered to drop out a bale of cardboard at ground level.

Hydraulic chutes

Dual glass compartments combined with hydraulic chutes provide automatic side ejection for glass.

New Noise reducing design

Highly innovative noise reduction processes have been used to contain and absorb the sound of glass being loaded, thereby reducing potential noise impact on collection crews and the local environment.

Lower deck compartment

The lower deck is split into separate compartments for each material, using every inch of space productively.

Removable food waste pod

Special sealed and hygienic stainless steel stillages are used for food waste. These are loaded and unloaded, locked and unlocked hydraulically. This removes any need for a forklift to come in direct contact with the vehicle.

MAgic floor

The Magic Floor provides automatic side ejection for paper.

Vertical loader

A vertical loader moves material to the upper deck where it is hydraulically compacted and stored. This is automatically controlled from the nearside of the vehicle.

Automated Offloading

Offloading is controlled by the driver from the safety of the cab, eliminating the need for a banksman or anyone elese around the vehicle for maximum safety.

Fully enclosed upper deck

The upper deck area has a structural roof and is fully enclosed and sealed to enable full hydraulic compaction of plastics and cans.

Upper deck collection space

The low profile upper deck area is fully enclosed and sealed. A hydraulic compacting ram compresses the materials, significantly increasing the amount of material that can be collected, giving a maximum capacity of up to 850kg. The hydraulic ram also acts as an ejector for offloading. Materials are still loose when unloaded to allow further separation.

REAR ACCESS FOR UNLOADING CANS AND PLASTICS

The top deck door lowers down and guides the ejected material clear of the rear of the vehicle.
The Kerb-Sort can reverse into unloading bays which helps increase the turnaround time in the depot.
